College Basketball Picks Today - Friday, 3/28

Mississippi Rebels (#6) vs. Michigan State Spartans (#2)

  • Spread: Mississippi +3.0 (-105) | Michigan State -3.0 (-115)

  • Total: 143.5 (O -115, U -105)

  • Moneyline: Mississippi +140 | Michigan State -165

  • Time: 4:09 PM ET

Analysis:
Mississippi has been impressive in the tournament, using their aggressive defense and strong guard play to advance. Michigan State has the experience advantage. The Spartans' size and rebounding edge could be the difference, but Mississippi has been a strong first-half team, often keeping games close early before fading late, and MSU has lost both first half spreads.

Premium Picks:

  • First Half Spread Bet: Mississippi +2.0

  • Full Game Bet: Over 143.5

Kentucky Wildcats (#3) vs. Tennessee Volunteers (#2)

  • Spread: Kentucky +4.0 (-105) | Tennessee -4.0 (-115)

  • Total: 144.0 (O -115, U -105)

  • Moneyline: Kentucky +170 | Tennessee -200

  • Time: 4:39 PM ET

Analysis:
This SEC showdown features two teams that know each other well. Kentucky has the offensive firepower to hang with Tennessee, and their ability to get to the free-throw line could be key. Kentucky has also stepped up their defense in this tournament. Tennessee’s defense has been elite all season. In a tight rivalry game like this, getting points with Kentucky feels like the right side here. I am already on Kentucky +4.5 since last week when the line came out. I think Tennessee might have some scoring droughts.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Kentucky +4.5 (-110)

  • Moneyline Bet: Kentucky +170

Michigan Wolverines (#5) vs. Auburn Tigers (#1)

  • Spread: Michigan +8.5 (-110) | Auburn -8.5 (-110)

  • Total: 155.0 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Michigan +315 | Auburn -420

  • Time: 6:39 PM ET

Analysis:
Michigan has been exceeding expectations, playing with great discipline and efficiency, but I don’t think we can tell if this team is even good or not yet. It’s been a little bit of a cakewalk to get here, but they do have the bigs to compete — as long as their guards take care of the damn ball. Auburn is loaded with talent, but they’ve been prone to slow starts. The Wolverines' ability to control the pace and get easy buckets inside should help them stay within the number, especially if they can limit Auburn’s transition opportunities.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Michigan +9.0 (-110)

  • Over/Under Bet: Over 155.0 (-110)

Purdue Boilermakers (#4) vs. Houston Cougars (#1)

  • Spread: Purdue +8.0 (-110) | Houston -8.0 (-110)

  • Total: 133.0 (O -105, U -115)

  • Moneyline: Purdue +315 | Houston -420

  • Time: 7:09 PM ET

Analysis:
Houston has been dominant all season, using their elite defense to smother opponents. Purdue has the size advantage with their frontcourt, but Houston’s relentless defensive pressure and ability to force turnovers could be too much. If Purdue struggles with Houston’s pressure, it could really turn into an ugly game fast. The key here is how these teams start. If Houston grabs an early lead/cushion, I think it is game over for Purde.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Houston -8.0 / Houston ML

NBA Betting Breakdown – Friday, 3/28

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons

  • Spread: Cavaliers -5.0 (-110) | Pistons +5.0 (-110)

  • Total: 228.0 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Cavaliers -200 | Pistons +170

  • Time: 4:00 PM ET

Analysis:
The Cavaliers are struggling lately and going into Detroit to play a Pistons team that is great at home but will not have Cade Cunningham. I feel like this line is a trap and I’m staying away because I’m very tempted to bet the Cavs. Detroit is really good at home and the Cavs are heading the wrong direction here to end the season. I think a really good bet here could be to take the Pistons in the first quarter.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Pistons +1.5 1st Quarter

  • Player Props: Donovan Mitchell - Over 32.5 PRA

Charlotte Hornets vs. Toronto Raptors

  • Spread: Hornets +5.5 (-110) | Raptors -5.5 (-110)

  • Total: 216.0 (O -105, U -115)

  • Moneyline: Hornets +175 | Raptors -210

  • Time: 4:30 PM ET

Analysis:
The Hornets will be without LaMelo Ball (ankle), impacting their offense significantly. The Raptors will be missing a lot of players too but have a pretty big advantage here at home.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Raptors -5.5 & Raptors 1st Q -1.5

  • Player Prop: Jakob Poelt - Over 7.5 Rebs

  • Parlay:

L.A. Clippers vs. Brooklyn Nets

  • Spread: Clippers -12.0 (-110) | Nets +12.0 (-110)

  • Total: 213.5 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Clippers -675 | Nets +460

  • Time: 4:30 PM ET

Analysis:
The Clippers have been dominant against lower-ranked teams, but the Nets always seem to cover these double-digit spreads at home. Brooklyn’s injuries to key rotation players might hurt them in this one. The Clippers appear to be fully healthy and it looks like The Nets may have Ziaire Williams potentially out with an illness also. The under is probably a good play here.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Nets +12

  • Over/Under Bet: Under 213.5 (-110)

Golden State Warriors vs. New Orleans Pelicans

  • Spread: Warriors -14.5 (-110) | Pelicans +14.5 (-110)

  • Total: 226.5 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Warriors -1100 | Pelicans +650

  • Time: 5:00 PM ET

Analysis:
Stephen Curry is questionable for the Warriors, while Gary Payton II remains out. The Pelicans have Zion and CJ McCollum out. I’d probably just avoid this game given the amount of variables we’re dealing with here.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: No Bet

  • Player Prop: Kelly Olynyk - Over 22.5 PRA

New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks

  • Spread: Knicks +1.0 (-115) | Bucks -1.0 (-105)

  • Total: 217.5 (O -115, U -105)

  • Moneyline: Knicks -110 | Bucks -110

  • Time: 5:00 PM ET

Analysis:
The Bucks will be without Damian Lillard (calf), significantly impacting their offense, but they have some young guys filling in decently. Both teams struggle against top tier competition but the Bucks are great at home so that’s the difference maker here.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Bucks ML -110

  • Other picks: Over 217.5, Giannis Over 29.5 Points, Bucks 1st Q

Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota Timberwolves

  • Spread: Suns +7.0 (-105) | Timberwolves -7.0 (-115)

  • Total: 225.5 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Suns +235 | Timberwolves -285

  • Time: 5:00 PM ET

Analysis:
The Timberwolves have been one of the league’s best defensive teams and their offense is coming around with all their guys back. This team is starting to look complete for the first time all year. I suspect they handle business here and the Suns just do not play enough defense to hang in this game.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: Timberwolves -7.0

  • Player Props: Anthony Edwards - Over 27.5 Points, Devin Booker - Under 25.5 Points

Utah Jazz vs. Denver Nuggets

  • Spread: Jazz +17.5 (-105) | Nuggets -17.5 (-115)

  • Total: 240.0 (O -110, U -110)

  • Moneyline: Jazz +1000 | Nuggets -2200

  • Time: 6:00 PM ET

Analysis:
The Jazz are in full rebuild mode and dealing with multiple injuries, including Lauri Markkanen (illness) and Jordan Clarkson (foot). Their depth issues make it difficult to keep pace with the high-powered Nuggets offense. Denver has not been playing the best lately and this is a massive spread. I want to take the Jazz but maybe I’ll wait for +20 on the live bet. I feel like the strength of the remaining Jazz team is on the interior so I expect Jokic to distribute more vs. score.

Premium Picks:

  • Spread Bet: No bet.

  • Player Prop: Nikola Jokic - Over 9.5 Assists
