Analysis:
The BYU Cougars have showcased a potent offense throughout the tournament, consistently putting up high point totals. Their dynamic scoring ability will be tested against Alabama’s defense, which has had moments of inconsistency. Alabama, favored by 5 points, will rely on their athleticism and pace to control the game’s tempo. Alabama does seem to be playing better defense in this tournament. It’s going to be a very fun game to watch, but I think Alabama is better overall squad here. Keep in mind, Alabama is a very good first half team (best in the country) and BYU is good as well, but average about 4 points less than Alabama in the first half.

Analysis:
The Florida Gators didn’t look like the very best team in the tournament last game, but it was a tough matchup against a veteran UCONN team. I feel like FL gets it together here in this game. Maryland’s defense has been resilient, but I just don’t think they can keep up with FL and watching Maryland guards have trouble defending CSU makes me think FL will have a big game here, especially Clayton. Given Florida’s offensive prowess and Maryland’s tendency to keep games close, this matchup could be tighter than the spread suggests.

Duke enters the Sweet 16 with an impressive record and a long winning streak. They’re just beating teams down right now. Their earlier season victory over Arizona showcased their defensive capabilities as well. Arizona’s Caleb Love, known for his clutch performances, will be a key factor to keep Arizona in this game. However, Duke’s depth and defensive strength position them as clear favorites. It will be hard to see Duke blow out AZ but I think they’ll just consistently be ahead by 8-12 points and win with ease.

Arkansas has been on a run, with notable upsets against higher seeds. Plus, leading scorer Adou Thiero is likely to return. Texas Tech has demonstrated consistency throughout the year and into the tournament. This game has the potential for an upset, especially if Arkansas can capitalize on their momentum and Thiero is available. We also know Arkansas has a bit of a coaching edge here.

Analysis: The Mavericks are facing significant injury challenges, with Anthony Davis coming back probably in a limited minutes capacity, and having tons of other guys out. The Magic, with a solid home record, will look to capitalize here. Orlando's defense has been solid, allowing only 106.1 points per game, which ranks them near the top of the league.

Analysis: The Pacers have secured a playoff spot and are looking to improve their seeding. They’re coming off a last-second tip in by Lebron. The Wizards have struggled defensively, allowing 119.9 points per game. Indiana's balanced offense should take adavantage of Washington's defensive weaknesses. This is a bad matchup for the Wizards and the Pacers will probably come out hungry off a loss.

Analysis: The Spurs are very up and down with a lot of young talent. The Cavaliers should take care of business here and shut down the Spurs perimeter attack at home.

Analysis: The Hawks list Trae Young as probable with an Achilles issue. The Heat have Duncan Robinson and Alec Burks listed as questionable due to back issues. Both teams are vying for playoff positioning, making this a critical matchup. Miami's defense, allowing 109.1 points per game, will be tested by Atlanta's high-scoring offense. This one is too tough to call and I could see it going either way with both teams having the potential to blow the other team out based on contrasting styles.

Analysis: The Lakers are relatively healthy, with only Maxi Kleber (foot) ruled out. The Bulls, however, have Nikola Vucevic and five other players on the injury report, which could slow them down a bit. The Bulls killed them last time out — Giddey and White are super hot right now — but I think the Lakers take this one and slow the Bulls down here.

Analysis: The Grizzlies are without Ja Morant (hamstring) and Brandon Clarke (knee), impacting their offense. The Thunder, leading the Western Conference with a +12.9 average point differential, have been dominant at home. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, averaging 32.8 points per game, continues to take over at the end of games. I don’t think Memphis can hang — they’ve been too inconsistent lately.

Houston's balanced scoring, with seven players averaging at least 12 points per game, makes them tough to stop, and they play defense. The Jazz, on a three-game losing streak and missing key players like Jordan Clarkson (foot) and Lauri Markkanen (illness), will have difficulty containing Houston's offense. I think the Jazz might hang a bit at home here but the Rockets will pull away at the end.

The Trail Blazers enter this matchup with a depleted frontcourt. Robert Williams III is sidelined following a knee procedure. Additionally, Deandre Ayton (calf strain) and Jerami Grant (knee tendinitis) are listed as out and doubtful. These absences place increased responsibility on guards Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe to lead the offense, but the younger guys can lack consistency at times. For the Kings, Malik Monk and Devin Carter are questionable due to illness, and forward Jake LaRavia is questionable with a thumb injury. Despite the setbacks, the Kings have been competitive.
