🏀 NBA Play-In Tournament – Tuesday, April 15, 2025
Atlanta Hawks at Orlando Magic
Tip-Off: 7:00 PM ET
Venue: Kia Center (Orlando, FL)
Spread: Magic -5.0
Total: 216.5
Moneyline: ATL +175 | ORL -210
🔍 Matchup Breakdown:
Orlando brings playoff-level defense and a strong home record into this game. They’ve been disciplined on both ends, and their size and spacing make them a matchup problem. Paolo Banchero leads the way, while Franz Wagner continues to be one of the most efficient wings in the league. Banchero’s line is all the way up to 29.5, which is pretty crazy but he’s been one of the better players in the league lately.
Atlanta's offense remains dangerous behind Trae Young, who will have the ball in his hands every possession, but can anyone else step up and help out? Their challenge really is defense — they rank near the bottom in most metrics and struggle in the half-court. If they don’t push pace, they’ll be in trouble, and Orlando is good at slowing teams down.
The single thing that stands out to me: The Hawks turn the ball over a lot and the Magic force a ton of turnovers. That’s usually not a winning combination (for the Hawks side).

Memphis Grizzlies at Golden State Warriors
Tip-Off: 7:10 PM PT
Venue: Chase Center (San Francisco, CA)
Spread: Warriors -7.0
Total: 229.0
Moneyline: MEM +250 | GSW -300
🔍 Matchup Breakdown:
At home, in a must-win environment, Golden State has historically thrived — especially when the threes are falling. Their ball movement and spacing remain elite, and I’m expecting Jimmy Butler to show up in playoff Jimmy-mode.
Memphis has talent but lacks stability. Injuries and extremely bad defense have disrupted their season. I think they do have on pretty decent matchup advantage with Jaren Jackson Jr. However, they’ve also struggled with turnovers and perimeter defense — not ideal vs. the Warriors at all.
These are the type of games where we have to go with experience, discipline, and defense. I feel like 7 points is still a lot to cover. I’m hoping we get a fairly close first half and I can grab the Warriors at -3 or -4. I feel like 7 is a lot because there will be several big scoring runs in this game, so be patient and find a good number.
